Stand / Wheel Chock Recommendations

Can anyone recommend a good stand / wheel chock?

Something along the lines of THIS, THIS or THIS.

I don't need any locking functions. I just want something that will keep the bike firmly upright while I lift the rear end onto a paddock stand and off again (I've had a couple of near drops while taking the bike off the rear paddock :().

Doesn't look like anywhere in the UK can supply the Baxley Sport Chock :(

I even tried a well known auction site but there aren't any on there either. The US version of the same site has 3 for sale, but non will ship to the UK.

Looks like I'll have to go with the second best option, which I haven't actually established yet :p

Would have cost me a small fortune to have one sent over so I'm happy I just went with the one Fireskull linked :)
 
Ok, so the wheel chock arrived and feels pretty sturdy.

But, does anyone know how I'm supposed to set it up? :confused:

On the pivot part you roll the bike onto there are 2 mounting holes to choose from. And on the top catcher type cradle there are 3 mounting holes to choose from.

Do I need to take wheel/height measurements to work out where they should be positioned?

I'm only small and find the bike quite heavy, so I'm not sure I can just throw it in there and hope it stays up :p

Nevermind. Can't get the bike in the damn thing anyway.

Everytime I roll up to it the whole thing just gets pushed back and the rubber feet fall off :(
 
I got it mainly to aid me in getting the bike on and off a rear paddock stand without needing help.

The bike likes to lurch to the right when I take it off the rear stand for some reason, which means I need to stand up front keeping the bike upright whilst someone else removes the stand.

The only times I get the bike up on the stand is when I'm lubing the chain or giving it a wash. Both of which I do outside in the middle of the back yard. So it's not really a place I can mount a wheel chock permanently.

I'd assumed I could just roll my bike into this thing out in the open, like the guys on YouTube :)

Maybe I could drill a set of holes in the yard and just drop some bolts down to stop the thing sliding... Although I think I'd rather look for a better solution to this.

I do, and last time I took it off the stand it lurched right and I ooonly just kept the bike off the floor (with the grab rail) :(

I just wanted that extra bit of assurance while I was working on my own, that was all.
 
Ok, so I went and tried again, whilst sitting on the bike this time. After a bit of faffing (yes that's the technical term for it :p) I managed to get the bike in.

I wasn't overly impressed by the grip tbh. It seemed to wobble quite a bit from side to side. Although I would probably be comfortable leaving it there over a period of time, I don't think I'd like to try whipping the rear end up whilst it was in that position.

Then I had fun trying to get it out again. Damn I'm such a weakling! :( :p

I think with the amount of effort involved I might as well just try to work on my paddock stand technique.
