I bought a "normal" q6600 processor, didn't really know how to spot a g0 at the time, I want to overclock, how much of a mistake have I made?

Is my "normal" q6600 crap next to the G0, I want to overclock it to around 3 gig+

Who knows ;)

Thing is, the G0 revision benefits from a lower TDP, so *should* be easier to overclock...as heat is usually the main enemy of the hardened OC'er......that said, you may have a cracking B3 :D

Well OCUK are selling pre overclocked systems with these in them at the moment, So the current batch must at least overclock to 3.4Ghz, Either that or OCUK are just keeping the best chips for themselves :)

How would they know ? G0 is so new that I doubt anyone knows which week are the good 'uns ;)

Since they sell retail G0 chips, dunno if people would appreciate their chips being opened and subject to overclocking and possibly overvolting even before it gets to them.. ;)

my Q6600 B3 easily hit 3.6 on water.... so I dont think is a big mistake... maybe you could do 3.2 on air....

Rig 1 of mine is a B3 Q6600 and will do 3.2GHz stable on AIR and temps are 39c-44c idle and 57c-62c load. :)
