As the forum is ready to go crazy post the launches of the ps4 and Xbox one I'm interested in what everyone has left on their current gen to play list before moving into next gen.

I've not got that much however I'm open to recommendations, hence the thread, therefore my games of this gen / to play are

The last of us / ordered
Dishonoured / to play
BioShock infinite / to play

My recommendations

Uncharted / all 3
Deus ex human revolution
Xcom enemy unknown

Any recommendations are welcomed, I'm also keen for people to point out that x game is not worth staying on the current gen for.... E.g dishonoured is pish etc

I'm sure we've had this thread before, but why not.

Last of us - some of the best story telling and graphics of the last generation, clunky gameplay but worth it.
Dishonoured - good game, the Half Life 2 and Thief lineage is clear to see.
Bioshock Infinite - again like the above it's worth it for the worldbuilding, the gameplay was average. Courtnee Draper put her heart and soul into Elizabeth.

The Uncharted games are great, the best being 2 by a country mile.
Deus Ex was a surprisingly well judged reboot of a classic.
Xcom, again see above.

There was another great reboot in the current generation, Tomb Raider.

A few big cross platform franchises were born, although they are all languishing now:

Assassins Creed: AC2 & Brotherhood were the pinnacle
Arkham *: Asylum was the better game, I think the tight narrative structure and Metroidvania mechanics worked better than open world.
Mass Effect: Apart from the disappointing ending, this is Bioware at it's best. Play this one through with female Sheppard, Jennifer Hale was exceptional.

Offbeat & Exclusives:
Demon Souls (PS3) - Better than Dark Souls, but play Dark Souls in a pinch.
Catherine (PS3) - Very odd but cool.
Valkyria Chronicles (PS3) - Basically Advance Wars with PS3 graphics and ladles of Anime. One of my favourite titles on the PS3.
Super Mario Galaxy (Wii) - Sublime, perfectly judged gameplay. Nintendo at their best.
Metroid Prime (Wii) - Great shooter that hinted at how good motion controls could be, and also how bad they were.
Bayonetta (Xbox/PS3) - Better on the Xbox.
Vanquish (PS3)

I would recommend the
Rachtet & clank series
Wipeout HD
Heavy rain
Uncharted series
Infamous
Resistance series
Metal Gear Soild 4

Dead Space - superb game, very atmospheric and excellent attention to detail. Ignore the sequels.

Enslaved - brilliant storyline and characters, visuals are a touch ropey but it's got a very bright, colourful palette which makes a nice change.

Singularity - massively underrated. By now means a revolutionary game, but it had a surprisingly good storyline, some nice level design and was very atmospheric. Gameplay feels a bit like Bioshock set in a Fallout-esque universe. Well worth a play as it's probably dirt cheap these days.

My recommendations would have to go to:

Dark/Demon's Souls (both are excellent)
The Last of Us - my favourite game of this generation by a long shot. Incredible story, and the gameplay has some good depth too, particularly online.
Bioshock Infinite - just for the story.

Tomb Raider, The Last of Us, Metal Gear Solid 4, Batman Arkham City, Alan Wake

there are others too - doubt I'll get round to finishing the ones above is what I've got left that I think are worth playing

Recommended:-

Dragons Dogma (turn voices to japanese to stop you breaking the TV)
Super Stardust HD (play it in 3d, amazing)
Wipeout HD (best racer ever)
Motorstorm Apocalypse (2nd best racer ever)

Tombraider has to be my fav- I was blown aback by the gfx for a last gen title!

Uncharted - The bit where your in a falling building - fighting a chopper was just aawwwwwweeessooooome!

Both batman arkham asylum and arkham city (somehow the last one didn't have the same appeal) but I loved playing Arkham city through - it was like the first was an introduction then the second one took it to the next level!

Metal Gear Solid 4 - just awesome! - First blu-ray game and well worth it.

Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes - kids still can't get enough of this and I enjoyed playing the campaign as well as finding all the extra characters - Took the Lego series to a next level. Found Lego Marvel was crap in comparison - don't know why....hmmmm

oh and the first Assasins creed was great - the rest were basically just re-makes for the sake of it.
