Recently bought a Logitech G27 and am very happy with it, games are a lot more fun with it etc, however it can obviously be a bit of a pain to set up sometimes when just bolting to a desk so I've been looking at steering wheel stands.

Mainly thinking of Wheel Stand Pro at the moment and just wondering if anyone on here has a G27 + this stand and could answer a few questions and give their thoughts on whether its worth it or not. Or if anyone could recommend a stand (around £100 max).

Does the central support (for the wheel) interfere when braking at all?

I've seen from some pictures this support bar would push the brake pedal when the stand folds down, does it actually prevent it folding down completely?

How is it for cable management if I use cable ties, can you get most of them under control with this stand and still fold it down most of the way?

Would you recommend it?

Thanks.

I wouldnt be comfortable with a wheelstandpro just because of the centre support between the legs but its down to personal prefference I suppose. The wheelstandpro does get very favourable reviews for being solid though, it is a very good wheelstand.

I use an old wooden desk with my G27 which gives space around the legs and makes it easier to left foot brake or heel 'n' toe.

Thanks for the reply,

Yea thats basically what I was wondering, I keep seeing glowing reviews of it but not sure if the central bar would be too much of an annoyance or not in the way that you just said.

I know its almost three times your budget, but you'd be better with a full rig. I got this from GT Omega Racing last month, and it's excellent. It's a full size seat with a very sturdy frame which doesn't move - plus you don't get the annoying bar down the middle...

The difference between that and sitting on an office chair with the wheel clamped to your desk is huge. :)

If you are looking at Wheel Stand Pro then it might be worth looking at the Gamepod GT1 as well...

I'd also check ebay because there are usually plenty of different race rigs and wheel stands for sale.

Thanks for the suggestions, as with weyland the space I currently have available sadly means the full set up with the chair isn't an option at present no matter how much I'd love it :) looks great.

+1 for seats - why not just get a driving seat?

I haven't read through each and every word posted on this thread but is there a problem with the amount of space you've got or is it the £££?

Its simply space, or lack of, if I had it I would definately look to buy one but I don't so I can't. :(
