¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Here's the rig spec:

PSU: Seasonic S12 430W
Motherboard: Abit KT7A RAID (latest BIOS)
CPU: Athlon XP-m underclocked @ 11 x 100 (1.125Vcore)
RAM: 640MB
GFX: ATI Radeon 9200
HD: 250GB IDE Maxtor thing
WIFI: Belkin thing
Soundcard: Audigy 2 (KX drivers)

Now, I've done prime blend and the other CPU stress one for 8 hours each, the temps stay low and I get no errors. But sometimes, out of the blue, the whole machine just resets, then boots up again as if nothing happened. :( No BSD of death, just instant reset!

It does this weather I'm running Windows XP or Xubuntu. Now, the only thing that I think may be causing this is possibly the GFX card or some bad capacitors on the motherboard... I should be getting another GFX card tomorrow, but does anyone know what causes this and is there some way of fixing it as it's really annoying!

Last time I had this issue was a few years back now, as far as I can remember it was faulty RAM. Try running memtest like the person above said, or just replace the RAM with another set if you have one spare.

Well, I already have tried Prime95 in Blend mode, but I'll give memtest a whirl anyway. Hopefully is it is dodgy RAM it will be easy enough to replace, I've got loads of SD-RAM. :)

It was the ram in the end, I took out all the RAM and swapped it around, and I set it tp pc133 speed int the BIOS as it was running at pc100 before. It now seems stable (touch wood)... I'm gonna give it an extended memtest session once I get the time... :)
