Stanstead --> Edinburgh

I am looking for a cheap flight from Stanstead on Friday afternoon, going to Edinburgh and then returning on Monday afternoon.

I have had a quick look online but have not had much luck... does anyone have any ideas?

www.skyscanner.net to look at what other airports you can fly from.

Failing that just drive, it really doesn't take that long. London to Ed is 6 -7 hours (if you stick to 80mph) door to door. You get flexibility on timings, and by the time you have got to Stanstead, checked in for your flight, got from the airport into the city centre without a car, you're not going to save that much time by flying.

If you don't care about your licence it's possible to do London (twickenham) to Edinburgh city centre in 4hr30mins, at an average speed of 99mph..... (I'd only suggest doing this at night, in fact I'm not suggesting it at all!)

I couldnt find any cheap flights back to edinburgh for friday so ended up getting an open return train ticket for 108 quid. Couldnt see any other option

You could have bought a Young Persons railcard and got the money back on that fare..........

I don't think that's too bad to be fair, petrol would probably cost you about £70 or so I'm guessing? Quite nice to chill out on the train and you also don't have to worry about checking in/out etc
