It's not going to survive. It's a classic dowstairs/upstairs, poor/posh, native indian/girl from Hamptons story transplanted to green screen for that extra "whoa" effect. Sadly whoa effect is just not there, budget is of typical "canadian production" type (read - aliens are poor and in ghetto just so they don't have to render too many super power fights etc) and leading actors are just poorly chosen. Do we care if the girl gets the boy? No we don't. Would we rather if the girl gets wiped out in the next episode and observe the boy leading the aliens to fight with human rednecks for the rest of the season? Yes we would. Bam. Whole premise collapses.
