Star points to Wii points - Questions

I just registered some star points and I've battled through the overly compliacted system to find there's no Wii points available.

Does anyone know often do they release more Wii points?

Is it normal that I registered my Wii and Wii sports and for some reason it shows that I've registered 2 Wiis and gave me 2000 points? :confused:

2000 star points is only 500 Wii points unfortunately

The system is unnessecarily complicated, not sure how kids are meant to do it.

You have to register all your star points on the Nintendo Club website, then you have to go into the Wii shop channel on your Wii and link it to your Nintendo club account (at no point in the process did it tell me to this, I found out about it online), then you have a wait a while for system to update so you can log in. Once logged in you can buy points cards, when I first looked there were none available, but I just managed to get a 300 point card when I looked in just now.

Oh, and it only lets you have one card a day, so I'll have to try again tomorrow to convert my remaining points so I can scrape together enough for Super Mario Bros 3.

Quite tempted by the Wii browser too, but guess its more of a novelty than actually useful.

I find using the on screen keyboard quite inaccurate, but that could just be me.
