Hmm well i hope it leaves the constrictions of the "past" behind. Its utterly the last breath of star trek.

It can do whatever it wants now without restriction.

Just be good......
 
Well, that trailer wasn't at all face-meltingly awful and didn't once make me want to gnaw off my own arm to feel something other than burning hatred for almost everyone involved.

Quite rare these days for me to attempt to watch something and not have this reaction.

I think I'm just old and have used up all of my tolerance for garbage. And generally much of what is produced these days is some flavour of hot garbage.

It's mostly the writing. There is so much awful writing around. But then every time I read "The making of..." you understand how this happens. There are so many egos in these studios and it seems all the top execs think they are creative geniuses. They won't just leave a writer/director/producer to tell their story, they have to continually interfere, bring in new people in and demand endless re-writes.

And in the end after everybody has had their 2c the end product satisfies nobody and is the worst kind of hot garbage you can imagine. But this seems to be the norm.
