I would love to get a couple more hours in today - missed the best part of the afternoon. Damn Mum and her insistence on visiting during headstart... :p

Hmmm not sure exact figure ... lifetime sub in £ worked out around £183 including vat ... yeah i know blooming expensive but yeah i have faith that fresh content will keep the game worth playing in 1.5 or two or even 3 or 4 years from now (if its done right) although not a confidence building start is it :eek:

EDIT -- server back up and i STILL cant log in -- must be something with my install though i verified the steam folder and patched it without problems :(

Nice one mate cheers for the info. (btw just incase wasnt having a dig at you for spending that much - just curious what the total amount with VAT cost).

Still considering it myself you see... but its like saying "buying a game for over 200 quid... Crazy...

Still got 2 days to think about it...
 
My G13 map for ship combat:



I also have ship hull strength and shield percentages in the LCD panel. Will obviously need adjustment at higher levels, but it is working well at the moment - now that I have removed all of the bugs!

Cost me £177 when I got mine I think. Keep in mind a lifetime sub will still be available, just a lot more expensive!

Also the G13... what you mean you have to adjust at higher levels?
 
The G8 key is going to get some hammer.

Edit: Unless, perhaps, you are going cruiser and all cannons, no torps, in which case I've now noticed your positioning of the all weapons, G24 key choice.

Currently $240 - sure I read somewhere it will be about $280. That could be completely wrong/could have changed by now. Perhaps someone can find a link.

By higher levels, I mean when I get more abilites and more complex abilities e.g. I might want some abilities switched on as soon as the cooldown has expired, or I may want some being used together. I might also run out of room on my skill tray - I could use an alt profile e.g. switch from M1 to M2 or 3 at the top of the G13 - but not sure how smoothly that would work.
 
Yeah £177 may be right but i think my bank stung me a further £7 or £8 for UK to US conversion (dont know how they get away with making charges for international payments when its all digital by wire nowadays)

Lifetime sub goes up $50 (maybe more) i think after Feb 2nd

Its getting very frustrating as i get verify username then it goes retrieving character (which i havent created yet) and boots me off - reminds me of catch22 - cant retrieve charater so boots but cant create unless it logs me in ... Grrrrr KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

Yes, I would agree with VaderDSL - also a good option. You save some money, can leave it to re-charge you at the end of the year (with the discount), but also gives you more flexibility to cancel. Depends how long you can see yourself playing the game. I like the ability to never have to worry about monthly payments and being able to drop-in whenever I want e.g. to check new content.

G24 does get used quite a lot - as does "full impulse". Tempted to move full impulse to a key - just not sure which once and what to replace it with.

CR - what you mean leave it to re-charge with discount?
 
So much for the 'head start', thanks to the latest downtime i've just convinced myself to re-roll back to Tactical like i was in OB. 3rd time is the charm :p
 
I was tactical in OB, Engineer now and thought I'd miss the ground powers from tac, but I can honestly say I haven't... laying 6 mines and a transphasic bomb at the feet of npcs clears em out pretty quick. :D
