Star Trek: Picard

The Changeling arc was a huge letdown tbh

Should have left it as changelings and not involved the borg imo. Would have been better.

They did not have budget, but a cgi Odo being involved right at the end would have been cool.

The whole thing could have been so much better but it seems too many cooks in the kitchen and we are lucky we got even what we did.

I would have been happy with it just being the Borg, or the Changelings, as it was, well, it was naff, the Changelings hate solids, Borg or not.

Not sure about the too many cooks thing, thought the last season was just Matalis, but if it had been him from the beginning..

Hopefully he has proven himself with season 3 and he'll get a decent 3-5 season run at something else in the Trek Universe now.

Well we know Sir Patrick would get involved. That's why we got a crappy season 1 and 2 no?

Given how well Frakes 'gets it' I'm kinda disappointed that SirPat clearly doesn't understand a character that he played for a decent amount of time....

I don’t think it’s the character he doesn’t understand - I mean who could understand him any better than the bloke who literally WAS him?

The problem was that we just wanted the TNG/DS9/Voyager people back together in the old ST Universe - what we got was a load of new characters with Picard trying to make something new around himself instead the whole crew. I mean, if you were going to try that then it makes sense to use him - Star Trek: O’Brian wouldn’t have the same impact I feel…

Yeah, but he doesnt get Trek, not like Frakes does, that's what I meant.

SirPat wanted something new, not the same old rehash, no uniforms, no Enterprise, no old cast, we're all clearly stuck in our ways :)
