Star Wars blu ray sept 2011

OMG they changed something!!!1

If that was in there from the beginning, people wouldn't be complaining about it.

The point of changing something is to enhance whats already there not just for the sake of it.

Vader saying nothing said more than what they have added

Its pointless change and its ruins the scene.

Lucas has lost the plot :p

More sillyness

although i think cgi yoda is better, i agree that these sound effects aren't very good.

but it's really minor compared to seeing the movies in HD glory, so I can't wait. (seems like just a couple of tweaks, so not many - less than when the DVD were released if i remember correctly)

@ >£60, it comes out to less than £10 per movie so pretty good deal compared to Lotro (extended versions on 2 discs per movie!)

Is this rule different on every sub forum?

no just some moderators don't understand the rules

Its been clarified time and time again that discussing where to buy products that OcUK don't stock in any shape or form (like DVDs) its fine to mention places that might also sell stuff that ocuk sells, providing they don't have the same primary market as OcUK.

For example, trying to forbid us from mentioning tesco or asda is just pointless. Everybody has heard of them.

Meh, pre-order still intact...

Not even George's latest mutilations are going to get in the way of my six film blu-ray marathon :D

I'll moan about the changes after ;)

I'd say that some of them have.
The originals came out when cgi was very much in it's infancy. Hell, they were still inventing it as they went along! A lot of the effects he's added, were done because the technology NOW exists to allow him to do it as he wants. He was constrained when the movies were made and ultimately frustrated that he couldn't do everything he wanted.

The flipside of that though is that some of it is indeed unnecessary tinkering. The extra dialogue and changing of scenes (Han not firing first springs to mind) are just change for changes sake. Also Lucas does seem to think more is better: "why only have 100 droids when we can have 10000?"

AND, if you can, have a look at an old version of the movies, on VHS if available, they look really horrible, pre-restoration. I'm pretty sure space isn't a murky brown colour.

Sums it up :) I think on the whole it's improved. Plus it will be nice to have a consolidated box set. I still find the first 3 films (bar older Anakin) quite enjoyable, just in a slightly different way to the old 3 (First as in Ep 1 2 3).

I like most of the improvements, but then again my first real viewing was the remastered version in 97.

But the Darth Vader NOOOOO, is stupid.
