Star Wars Comics - Anyone else recently started collecting?

So I'm a massive Star Wars fan and with the announcement of the new Marvel Star Wars comics I decided to take a punt and collect them as an investment... thinking they may increase in Value, if looked after properly.

Marvel are doing a main series and also several mini series collections 6 issues only, focusing on 1 character currently Darth Vader, with the Princess Leia series starting in March.

Like a throbber I arrived to this late and have now had to pay through the nose to catch up with several of the variant issues. Just over £80 on the infamous auction site to get 3 comics.

I'm seriously going to make sure I don't miss the release dates of these in future!
 
I've got a whole bunch of the Dark Horse comics from over the last few years. I never got to grips with the investment part of comic buying really, I just bought them to enjoy the stories. So if I didn't have a series I'd happily purchase the graphic novel once it was released etc., Of course all those stories have now been shift-deleted, I don't I could drum up motivation to go after the new Marvel stories. I'd maybe read them digitally on my ipad or something though. I have to say that despite no longer collecting anything, I do enjoy having my collection, if you know what I mean. :)

Anyway, I'm sure you'll thoroughly enjoy your collection! :) Will you be signing up to a mail order type service for each issue, or going down to your local comic store to select the closest one they have to Mint for each issue? :)
 
Going down to the local comic book shop I think seems hazardous to my bank account but I actually find it enjoyable... Even though they didn't have what I was after I did pick up (I think an Indie comic) called Suiciders that's got pretty decent artwork and quite an interesting story... I fear I may have started something lol
