Star Wars Genesis Mod for Starfield.

I'll be playing this, but I'm doing as their website recommends and will wait for the 8.6 update coming end of January.

That will have lightsabers and other updates.

Finally a reason to pick up the DLC, but only as it’s a prerequisite for this mod.

Will also wait for the next update as suggested by the mod creator.

Look forward to hear back from you guys that download it. I am going wait until I finish off a few other games as I guess this will need around 600-750GB of space if it’s anything like Lorerim was for Skyrim.

I downloaded this the other day after buying Starfield in the Steam sale. Currently downloading the HD packs which is slow going as I don't have the premium NexusMods so you have to download each file manually and its limited to 3Mb/s total.

Will wipe it all and start again when the next update comes out. Will also probably get the 3day trial of NexusMods at that point!

Yeah I might get the trial as well - bit of a slog installing 220 mods manually isn't it?

Anyone here able to give their feedback?

I've played it for about 3-4 hours. It's a very impressive achievement but if you've played starfield much you'll still recognise the original game lurking not too far under the mods: the cities are essentially the same layout and have the same large architecture but smaller objects, signs and NPCs are replaced. I know this won't come as a surprise, it IS a mod rather than a whole new game but I think I was probably expecting too much in my excitement :)

From what I've seen so far the key questlines are essentially the same as in starfield but with a star wars spin (and skin) on them: for instance, the questline from starfield that ultimately gets you the mantis ship and gear is still there but gets you the mandalorian's ship and gear. You still start by joining the society (albeit with a star wars makeover) that's trying to find the celestial jigsaw piece thingies though I've not played enough to actually pursue any though so I don't know how far that goes. I think there are some bespoke questlines for the conversion but again I've not pursued them yet.

Also, I don't know if I've missed a setting somewhere or if I'm getting too old for this sort of thing but it's also really difficult in it's current form - it's not quite 1-shot and you're dead but it's not far off. Likewise with space fights, I only got into one and lasted about 0.5 second.

The process of getting the mod is a massive pain if you're not a premium subscriber to nexus mods - the install tool (wabbajack or whatever it's called) that the mod creators tells you to use does make it easier but there's no getting around the limitations of a free nexusmod account: it will take HOURS to install and you have to be there to click for every single one of the 300-odd mods required. The free trial sub is an absolute must unless you've the patience of a saint.

I think it's totally worth trying this mod, especially if you like Starfield (and older proper Star Wars, obvioulsy). Call me odd but I genuinely like the vibe, look and feel of Starfield and its visuals, despite the 'game' side limitations we all know about.

The mod is quite easy to install but as mentioned it will take about 10 hours to download from scratch if you've never installed it before, on a non-premium Nexus account which is limited to about 25Mbps.

It's pretty punishing to run though, especially on the CPU. Starfield is the same in some city locations, but this is quite a bit worse. I have a very solid rig too (highly tuned 9700x and fast DDR5 and a 5090) and it's tough going at times.

I was testing tweaking my CPU (PBO, undervolting etc) last week in the Coruscant Imperial City area as this is really tough so I was using it as a benchmark test, and as I ran various benchmarks I can categorically say the latest update 8.6.1 has actually made performance worse! About 10-15% lower FPS and more stutters in the same locations I was benchmarking. This is odd as the latest update was supposed to improve things.

Anyway, hope that gets fixed. Turning on frame gen helps a ton though, and makes it very smooth, even though the mod website says not to use frame gen or DLSS. No idea why, they work great!
I've also started tweaking stuff and modding myself further. Managed to get RENODX HDR working now which is a huge bonus.

Update: v8.6.2 just released....No change to performance, same as 8.6.1. v8.5.0 was a lot better.

Not tried the mod yet but +1 for RENODX HDR, great tool that is. Saves having to fanny about with LUT's

As I've just recently got into FO4 (again), I'll be playing the patient bear with this one, while bugs and hopefully performance gets sorted.
