Massive Entertainment, makers of The Division 1 & 2 have been working on an Open World Star Wars game for a few years and it's finally had a World Premiere. We all know how Ubisoft loves an Open World Game too!

Gameplay video

Due out in 2024.

What annoys me is whenever a Star Wars game comes out it is either EA or Ubisoft.
EA held the exclusive rights for a long time but lost their exclusivity for releases earlier this year I believe. It was a ten year deal they signed in 2013. Massive are working on this and there's a Jedi FPS shooter being worked on by Respawn Entertainment who, I'm sure, will be considering another Fallen Order game.

Think that was Star Wars 1313 which was set entirely on the lower levels of Coruscant.

As for Outlaws, it appears interesting, but dissapointingly looks like no co-op. Was hoping for a sort of The Division but in Star Wars type game.
Star Wars Rebel Commando style. That'd be great!

HAHAHAHAHA
Shock as game made by generic slop publisher churns out another piece of generic slop.

Its amazing that they somehow made it look worse than I had already imagined. From the studio that has so little awareness that they will happily **** on Elden Ring whilst releasing some of the blandest games in existence and trying to get you to pay for xp boosts. Comical really.
Massive have a pretty good track record, but I'm definitely waiting for reviews before buying.

I suspect I'll do as I've done for both Jedi Survivor games and sub to their subscription service for a month or two and play it through for 50-60% of the cost of buying the game outright.

With AC Shadows also of interest to me this may well be the way to go.
Ubisoft+ is £15pm. You could have both games, with some pre-order bonuses from both games as well, played from start to finish in a couple of months for £30 compared to £100+ to own both, maybe even £120-£150 depending on what bonuses you get.

I know the publishers are counting on people remaining subscribed for months at a time, with an element of 'I forgot to unsubscribe' but I'd wager many more are simply subbing for a specific game or two for a couple of months at the most and then stopping for £30. I K ow I did for Jedi Survivor.

I shall take your word for it. I don't really know publishers/developers much and what they're involved with outside of a couple.
Plus let's face it. It's rarely the developer's fault is it. It's because they're being forced to work to unrealistic time scales.
Massive have done The Division 1 & 2 (and 3 is in development) and the Avatar game which I haven't played but was well received. Part of the problem with Star Wars games is some of the plot lines are limited by Lore or Disney.

It seems that most of those that have played it have enjoyed it, at least to a certain extent, and those who haven't, and don't think they will have had their beliefs validated by a few reviews here and there, like some sort of echo chamber effect. Much like Politics too. I may give it a go at some point, likely through Ubisoft+. It'll be interesting to see how my 3080 10GB runs it at 1440p Ultrawide.

Games are chock full of design decisions and limitations that don't make logical sense but have been put in place for reasons. To criticise this game for these reasons when situations like this have been in place since the ZX Spectrum days and even on consoles since even before Halo which enforced on foot sections rather than vehicle sections is very short sighted.
