Starcraft game - what do i need to play.

Never played warcraft or starcraft, only WOW.

I remember seeing starcraft played once and the graphics seemed huge, so i went down the C&C route.

Now, i have decided to give warcraft and starcraft a go. Looking in shops, almost impossable to find starcraft and only a few warcraft around.

So, the question is, for a good game of warcraft and starcraft, what expensions would you recomend buying for each game.

Definitely get Starcraft and the expansion Brood War, still available if you search.

I've only played Warcraft 3 which was alright I guess
 
Indeed. For StarCraft all you need is BroodWar and the latest patch and you're good to go. If you're playing single player, be sure to play through the original campaign (in proper order) first though.

For WC...not so sure, but check out DOTA...not very popular over here but looks pretty interesting...
 
just one thing to bear in mind

- the game has aged (RTS have evolved a lot, I hadn't realized until I tried to replay Starcraft which was an all time favorite)
- if you have a big display, be aware there in no way to change the res from 800x640.
 
I think, for fun, and if i fin them in the bargin bin, i will buy these two games and give them a go, i seem to have played to death everything else so, apart from EVE, not much left to do.
 
There's loads of copies of StarCraft and BroodWar bundled together on one CD in our local DVD/CD superstore for £3 reduced. Might not find it everywhere for that price but it's certainly cheap these days.
