Stargate is my favourte franchise but I won't be getting this until it's sub-£10 and even though I'm not sure I'll do it.

The early reviews for this does not look great which is a massive shame as it's the first Stargate game as all the others one kept getting cancelled (R.I.P. Stargate Worlds).

I'm keeping everything crossed that with Amazon's aquisitation of MGM, we'll see new Stargate content including games because there is so much potential in the franchise.

Briefly tried the demo on Steam last night and found it quite interesting. I've not played this genre much at all having always gravitated more towards RTS than tactics type games, but I had fun in what little I played. While I haven't played a lot, my initial take away so far is that I feel you could swap in any number of other sci-fi TV/Film franchises for content/lore/setting instead of Stargate and it'd likely still play the same. That might change as I get further in obviously when I see more story, mechanics and content, but right now it feels like Stargate was simply the one that got picked from the hat

The review I've seen are mixed at best, but I think some of them are from people who aren't necessarily familiar with tactics games or were expecting this game to be something else. I'm definitely gonna play this more this week but I don't know if that's cos I'm drawn to the tactics part of the game or the story!
