Starlink - anyone using it?

I'm happy with the UniFi setup and the PoE injector and now I'm back on their router and speeds still 50mpbs ish.

Hmm speeds have increased! I've changed a couple CAT6A cables, they were linking at a GbE speeds though, the power supply to the UniFi Express and now I'm getting up to 200Mbps at times.

Read about this the other day. If the price was to increase significantly here, I'd probably consider moving on. £75 is pretty steep as it is.

Yep, that's what made me send the kit back in the end. It worked really well but I couldn't justify the annual cost compared to our current alternative (4G).

I'm on Roam so £85 but for my use case it's cheaper, no EE data sim £50 when when I'm away and no VM £64 for home. But the £85-£100 would be my limit and I've had mine two months without any issues.

As a rural user, I am watching the price policy with intertest.

I was actually expecting the service price to drop over time, as it became more mainstream/established. I would be unwilling to spend much more than the £75 a month I am at the moment.

The French were paying 50EU a month for the residential service, they need to do the same for the UK if they want to increase the subscribers.
Mobile data is so cheap here and available in most places.

@Dangerous , if you're still getting slow speeds try changing the power supply for the POE.

Had already resolved that issue, it was either the shielded CAT6 cable or the power supply. Generally 80mpbs+ now.

Roam now has in motion use added to the service (up to 100mph) plus costal water use.

I think I might well be retiring Starlink at home soon. Nothing wrong with the service, it has been rock solid really, but hard to not consider alternatives when they become available at a significant discount..
Quickline is now available in my area, and they offer very similar speeds to Starlink for under £30 a month.
They are putting it in on the 9th of October, so I will run it for 2 weeks, then cancel under their 30 days termination if it is not up to scratch, and Starlink will get a reprieve!

And increase from £85 to £96! In motion use was always working anyway so I see it as the price increase. International travel? Hell that is the reason for the service...ROAM!

Why are you paying that much? Are you out of contract?

I live in Guernsey where some things are priced much higher then UK

Am on what they call the superfast plan which maxes out at 43mb where i live (Also there no Fibre available to my home yet)

I had Starlink installed yesterday to supplement my crappy fibre by Sky. Got both setup on my Ubiquiti dream machine SE, in combined mode so acting as 1 connection from an end point POV. Working well but I had to pay an additional one off £100 ‘congestion charge’ despite living in the sticks.
