My mate showed me this earlier;

It's basically similar to satisfactory but with some combat, (things attack your base), and there are missions to go out and complete, I'm a huge player of factory games and there have been a number of clones, but only Factorio and Satisfactory really 'got me' and Ignored all the others, until I saw this one.

I actually think it has some real promise, it looks great (UE5) and the factories have some great looking buildings and some complex logic for building stuff, the combat doesn't look bad either. The transit and belt systems allow or priorities and logic where buildings and factories can request things using code, similar to the circuits network in factorio.

Coming into early access in Autumn, definitely going to be keeping an eye on this..

So Satisfactory x Helldivers?

As a long term Ark player, UE5 kinda gives me the shivers... it looks about as good as ASE (UE4) and ASA (UE5) runs like a dog on tramadol :P
Hopefully it's better optimised, otherwise looks kinda interesting!

Tbf it may be mostly an Ark thing... the devs (Wildcard) have a long history of getting distracted by new shiny over fixing things (bugs exisiting since 2015 in ASE, carried forwards to ASA... 'ground up new code base....' etc. etc.!), the publisher (Snail) don't do it any favours either!
UE5.5 update coming this week apparently, I'm not holding my breath, it's probably gonna break more than it fixes!

It's entirely possible this will be better... I hope so at least :)

Looks like a fun game just like satisfactory and factorio. The one thing I'd love to see in the 3d factory games is the train system. Something factorio did really well and was the most fun part of late game. Train games are great fun but there's never any actual purpose to making track. With factory games there is, and making a full train network to transport goods and even your defense system is the funnest part imo

This has been on my wishlist for a while now, definitely looks like something I can sink my teeth into after Satisfactory.

@unwashed potato! You know Satisfactory has trains right?

I've not played Factorio so I have no idea how they compare sadly. Starter vid from TotalXclipse here which should give a decent idea:

Playtest for this is now live until Friday, if anybody got an invite that is, I have two going spare if anybody would like one, drop a note here and I'll get the invite sent over.

Ahhh, scratch that, I cant invite anybody who hasn't been on my Steam friends list for less that 30 days apparently, sorry :(

Initial impressions are that they are doing themselves no favours in allowing people to play this in it's current state, it doesn't like dual screen setups at all and the controls for building and opening menus and such are absolutely dire, it runs terribly too.

Its running fine for me on an single screen.
The reason they want free play testing is to find issues with various setups, its how beta testing used to be done before early access arrived.

Yes, I suspect I've been lulled into incorrect thought processes by the vast majority of beta tests being nothing of the sort lol :D

Played for a bit, it is absolutely killing my GPU, I left the graphics on high which came from auto-detect, running at 4k, my room raised up by 3 degrees lol. Seems fine but not wowed by it, partially because I'm just comparing it with Satisfactory.
