Start menu not opening

I've noticed this issue a number of times since the last build on public release. I have helped a number of customers with the issue. I too have had this issue. I have not had it on the most recent build but I only installed it a few days ago. It is a known bug but it may depend on how you use your pc. I tend to stay logged in for days at a time but those who reboot or log off regularly, don't tend to see it.

If you log off and back in, this will fix it temporarily.

There are two types of Windows 10 releases, maybe more if you include internal. Public is what you get when you upgrade or buy a new PC. There are also Fastring builds which are basically betas.

How soon after boot, does the problem begin?

Since updating a couple of systems to the latest insider build I've been plagued by it - had to reinstall a couple of times on one build so far because it has eventually become permanently broken - can open the start menu but clicking on stuff has no effect or suddenly it does whatever action you were trying to do 1+ minutes later - at first it would sort itself out eventually and/or on restarting but eventually it was broken more than it was working.
