I have just upgraded to Windows 11 and the Start menu is not working. This appears to be a common problem as there are numerous fixes on the internet, but none that I have tried so far have worked. Does anyone know how to fix this?

One could argue the Start Menu doesn't work on Windows 11

Have you tried the common registry tweak to reset the Start Menu to default?

I think the registry tweak just moves it to the left hand side as in Windows 10. When I click on Start the small blue circle appears for a second then nothing happens.

I assume you've tried rebooting? This happens to me occasionally and I just have to reboot.

I know that's not a fix, but nothing I've tried actually fixed the problem.

I've seen this mentioned before on an upgrade from w10. If you download a w11 iso and then run an upgrade install over the top (you can keep everything) it should resolve it.

Try all fixes on these 2 links.

Try run Windows Update and download, install optional Intel system update?

I'd start by checking if the process for the start menu is running, on W10 it's called 'StartMenuExperienceHost.exe' so someone will have to confirm it's still called that in W11. Open task manager, go to the details tab, and check to see if that's listed as a name of a process.
