I like to keep my taskbar relatively clean and rather have frequent software pinned to my start menu with jump lists for frequent files.
I've read guides which state you can have software pinned to the left side of the start menu by dragging either the executable or shortcut to the start menu, where it says 'Pin to Start Menu', but this doesn't pin it to the left or right! Anyone managed to get any software to pin to the left? I can only pin on the right.
I'm also keen to have jump lists of recent files for pinned software on the start menu but despite following a guide involving the 'EnableXamlJumpView' registry edit it won't activate jump lists for software pinned on the right and as above, I can't pin anything to the left of the start menu.
Also what's with not being able to create a shortcut in the same directly as the executable and being forced to create to the desktop?
