Hello!
Twice in the past couple of weeks I've got a 'disk read error...press ctrl-alt-del to restart' when booting up the PC.
Spec is in sig and the machine has been rock solid hardware wise since I built it but there seems to be intermittent issues when booting it now. I started off by changing the sata cables just-in-case they were the culprit but it hasn't solved the issues, and may have made it worse.
Now when booting I get a flashing cursor over the screen, then the machine boots into Windows. Now and again though the flashing cursor just stays on screen and the PC refuses to boot, or I'm just greeted with a completely blank screen.
More worrying though is a couple of times the PC has completely cut out during the boot process as if it has lost power. Does this point to a power issue or a possible motherboard issue? I should mention that once Windows loads, it does seem to run fine; the problems only appear during boot.
Any advice would be good thanks!
