Start up problems

I have recently reinstalled XP and have been having problems during startup. Basically certain things dont start up properly. E.g. nod32 either it forgets my username and password (resets it to my old one) or turns off one of the monitoring systems. Winamp will forget the colour theme or skin and revert to the original. Daemon tools crashes on start up and i get the standard MS send error report message. There may be other examples that I've forgot as well.

It doesn't happen everytime, and it seems to be only one issue each time. Maybe 1 in 3 boots goes wrong at a guess. After startup everything works fine.

At first I thought it may be that I had made XP shut down too quick (using tunexp) so it wasn't saving things in time but I turned this off and it still happens. Now I dont really know what could be the problem. Any ideas?

Thanks.
