what a totally bonkers racing sim. enjoying it more than I did GTR!

this is what my MOMO wheel is for, it's so much fun!

however, as i've just started i'm stuck with the basic academy kart racer thing. do i have to go through single player and earn better karts in order to use them online?

can't seem to join any online games ( vehicle not recognised - you're being booted etc ) with my basic racer.

any tips?

To improve the car you have to earn credits. You can do this by simply testing tracks although I would assume you would get more for taking part in offline or online races and doing well, i.e set pole, fastest lap, win etc.

You can then buy upgrades such as better tyres, LCD display, engine upgrades etc for the kart. For the others you can buy wings, diffusers, gears etc.

You should see a number under your name on the car select page. It should go up after you've finished a test/race. On the menu where you select the car should be a tab for upgrades.

I hated the default kart car so much I went over to Race Sim Central and downloaded the GP2 mod which gave me a much better car to play with.
