Started using Chrome because it's less meaty than Firefox...

Is that normal? How is that better than having 1 process that's heavier?

Chrome actually uses quite a lot of RAM because of the multiple process approach. It will, however, free memory up more efficiently when you close tabs.

So long as it's fast, does it matter? You still have 82% of your RAM free...
 
It doesnt matter, 16gb RAM should go a long way. i was just inquiring as i was under the impression Chrome was a waif. Makes sense.
