Hi all,

I am looking at building a custom 360 case and fitting water cooling to it to try and overcome the well known overheating problem.

I am looking at a cylindrical case, 360 mobo slightly off centre.

Fitting a xspc 360 cpu/gpu watercooling block (£40) and using a Thermaltake CL-W0132 P500 pump (500l/hr & £20-25) as both of these have been used before.

I was looking at building the reservoir into the other side of the case.

I was also considering running the pipes from the block too a 2 fan radiator and then to another 1 fan radiator before heading to the reservoir. This is mainly due to case design. Would just mean making sure it was properly sprayed to stop rusting :)

My question is, without breaking the bank, any recommendations on fans and radiators??

Also, I need advice on tubing and connecting it all as I have never done anything like this. For instance, the pump in 3/8" and the block has G1/4" thread

Distilled water is best for cooling isn't it?

thanks :D

1) get a pump other than the thermaltake, get a dangerden, laing or a laing rebrand

2) I doubt you'll need 360mm worth of rad

3) try yate loon 1000rpm's

4) clearflex, tygon and masterkleer are good brands of tubing, 3/8" will be fine

5) distilled is the best, just remember to buy a silver kill coil or PT nuke

Water cooling an xbox360? That's utter madness.........I love it! Can you overclock them too? :D

Lots of pics please.

Thanks for the feedback.

I'll go and do some more research etc :)

Got to modify a PC PSU to run the 360 so I can then use it to run watercooling and extra fans, should be fun :)

or you could just use a budget PSU to run the WC only... connect the green power-state wire and a ground wire to the x-box power switch, and it will be fully integrated.

LLama do a premade PC PSU to 360 adapter cable, found the same one ebay for £10 :)

Easier than messing around doing it myself! Will need to do some googling to see if it also allows the PSU to be turned on and off with the 360 power button because some sites have said it needs either a separate switch or some modding.
