righto chaps decided to bite the bullet and start a very simple routing to shed a few pounds

currently 5'7 and 15 1/2 stone, looking to shed 2 1/2 stone and get down to a trim 13 stone through a combination of sensible eating and gentle exercise along with a bit of toning work.

starting off with a routine of a few miles jogging a night just to break me in gently but I've hit my first major problem, after only a few nights in i'm suffering from serious chaffing of the tops of the thighs and blokey nether regions.

can anyone suggest some suitable non chaffy shorts/undergarment or any other suggestions to sooth current chaffing and avoid in future.

I'm was thinking about this today, for my potential gym joining. Comfy, supportive, breathable boxers and if there was anything out there that was a tad specialised.
I have the off pair of boxer breif type thing and due to hems can lead to a bit of a sore rubbed area on the inside of the thigh.

i wear boxers, then skin tight under armour which goes down to just above the knee then football shorts which are slightly shorter than the under armour. so basically the under armour pokes out from the bottom of the shorts.

if i only wear boxers and football shorts i get chafing because boxers arent long enough imo.

basically the underarmour stops the chafing as the rubbing hits the under armour instead.

you wanna get about 3 pairs of under armour and 3 pairs of shorts, unless you wash a set of clothes everyday, because in the beginning i only had one set and if they hadnt been washed, the chafing got so vigorous their was bleeding on my inner thighs, so get enough so you never have to run without them.

If you are running then either get some proper running shorts with integrated under crackers or get some 'cycling' shorts; in other words lycra shorts with no pad and no shoulder straps.

Just wear them under normal shorts and you'll be fine.

I take it your just looking to tone up, and not get to big?

Plenty of advice in the gym rats thread :)

In all honesty I'm just looking to loose the gut and generally slim down anything beyond that would be an epic bonus

I just lube up, or I did when I use to do distance running.

Get some Vaseline on and go at it like your venturing for some naked lube wrestling.
