I've got the whole summer ahead of me, and whilst I'll be studying for my finals next year, I'll also have a fair bit of time to start learning something new.

To this end, I've sort of narrowed down what I think I should do.

I'd like to jump into the app development for iPad but have no experience in languages, so will need to start somewhere I guess?

I'm figuring for website development I should learn:

Photoshop CS6 for designing and slicing the site.
HTML5 & CSS for coding the site.

Problem being I can't find a decent guide to get me started. CS6 wise, I've got some lynda tutorials so should be okay there, it's the HTML5 + CSS stuff I'm stuck on being able to find.

Development (App) wise, I don't have a clue on what to start learning?

Any idea's or inputs on where to start/go about this? I'm quite serious, as I want to be boosting my skill set to compliment my frankly rubbish business degree.....

Do you own a mac? If not, don't bother with iOS (iPad and iPhone) development. Apple restrict developers to using their own machines to develop and publish on the app store.

Otherwise, take a look at learning Java which powers Android devices, and is a very useful language to generally know.
