i am starting to build a new system want to put the best bits in as i build really want to make a top class games system. which motherboard would you recommend to start me off, any other help would be great. i dont mind the cost going to spend a little time building it.

What CPU have you chosen? If you haven't chosen one yet I recommend you investigate Intel's Core2Duo lineup. To go with that I'm a fan of Gigabyte's DS3 motherboard.

How much are you willing to spend on the rig?
 
i have not choosen anything yet. thought i would start at the motherboard and work the rest from there. i have no price limit. just want to play games on it. i have another for working on.

tbh, start what kind of cpu u want, then get a board that's suited 2 that along with ram cards ect. u dont say if u wanna go conroe, amd.
thats a big start when picking a mobo. more info on what u want, how much u wanna spend, be a big help for us 2 spec u. :)
 
sorry, i would like to go conroe, also thinking of spending £1,500 or there abouts. just want a system that will play games in great detail.

not a bad system, went with the asus board, from the grt results it showing, but the intel & dfi boards r getting grt reviews as well now, rock solid boards.
++ u have saved £400 if u had £1500 to spend :)

ps, u probs want a monitor?? should read some of the reviews in mon section, a good few been released in last few weeks :D
