Hi guys - I've decided to start a vlog specifically for businesses and how they can get more out of tech.

I don't really see anyone else doing a vlog in this area and my day job dictates that I speak to a lot of business owners that don't have the first clue about tech.

Anyway the first video is up and I'm looking for feedback and comments. I'd also be open to suggestions on future topics that you think might strike a cord with businesses.

Here it is would love your input good or bad:

The info seems really good, however:

Intro is too long.
Why do a blog about tech somewhere out and about? Makes no sense.
Half your face is permanently chopped off.
Hold the camera still.
Look at the camera more.

That's all I can add. This just seems a but sloppy tbh, focus a bit more on quality.

Diddums thanks for the feedback.

I guess the main reason I'm doing it outside is to differ from the crowd. I could be sat behind a desk but everyone else is doing that. This way I can add more to the video I guess.

Points noted about the intro and camera. Will let you in on the next improved video.

I recognise some of those places. \o/

I can see why you'd want to be outdoors to make it different, but then getting quality is much harder outdoors. A studio corner at home is easy to tweak just right. Outdoors? You're at the mercy of the elements unless you have some serious gear. Also, you don't have the camera waving about everywhere at home which some people will dislike for long videos.

Ok the content is good, but the audio is poor and the video is also poor, intro is far to long.

I would not normally listen with poor audio, put a wind sock over the mic it should help.

Around 30 second intro, 20 second ending - so about 50 seconds wasted, when both could easily be only 5 seconds each. But I must admit I like how you've shown where you've gone and it does give a fresh feel, for me at least - although I wouldn't do this for each video. :D

For me the camera put me off and I didn't like how you edited some parts of the video as you can tell some bits were chopped out.

I haven't upgraded to Windows 10 yet and still don't think I will. Windows 8.1 with StartIsBack installed gives me everything I need, except DirectX 12.

Really appreciate the comments and feedback.

I will be working on my camera work. As for Windows 8 darael....really ;)

Will post the 2nd installment here once ready.

Have a look at Valk's YT video on Green screen - could be a great technique for these kind of video's

Would massively boost the video quality, reduce camera shake and back ground noise.

The intro seem's, well, totally out of place with the topic covered if I'm honest - You could just stick with the initial screen sliding in and across.

The green screen you could use to basically present (think Weatherman style) a presentation with the information your getting across - would also increase viewership for those who don't understand spoken English. I say that cause the few cut scenes of you presenting are the sort of video I would expect to see for this type of topic. I know your trying to stand out - but I've not seen anyone doing these video's actually do the weatherman green screen style presentation.

There are plenty of recording's of actual presentation's, complete with echo halls, people sat about and a chap stood in front of a power point presentation who you can sometimes hear and then barely hear

Just a few thought's for you, but overall good first Vlog

tcfreer solid advice - I have a green screen so might give this a try - do you have a link to Valk's video?

Let's not pretend that this isn't a set of videos designed to drive business to the company featured. And I think you're pitching them perfectly - you want to be targeting decision makers and not going tech-heavy with these 5-minute long clips, so they can learn something (or think they have) and have it inform their decision of MSP when their contracts are up for renewal.

Much better. Just in general much better audio/visual so much cleaner.

Only thing I would suggest is cleaning up your channel. If you manage to get the interest of someone and they look through your other videos you have non tech ones in there and you certainly wont be getting PC worlds business :D.

A lot better in terms of quality this time.

And yeah, clean up the channel. Keep the personal stuff on a different channel and the professional stuff on the proper one.

Infinitely better than the first one, the camera shaking made me feel sick after a few seconds.

Second one looks more professional too, although I'm not the target for the info so cant comment on the quality of that.

Waaaay better.

This is the first time I've seen the first one and thought "Good speaker, good info, bad way to film it in the style of selfie.

Scrolled down and that second video is way better.

Good job.

Looks fantastic dude, so much better. I actually like the casual-ish look, if you were suited and booted you'd just be another salesman so keep the approachable look.

If I had to be picky, I'd say chin up a wee bit more, you seem to be looking down a lot in the intro. Also, knock up a small intro.

For comparison and maybe some motivation, I also did the Youtube channel thing a few years ago and amassed a few subs and it actually looked to be going quite well, until I changed jobs and all my spare time went in the bin. Looking back at it, so much has changed, I've got a new headset, new telly, new monitors, new speakers, new hat (heh) and loads more. Christ I buy a load of tat

Anyway, for your entertainment, and that of everyone else, here's a vlog I did ages ago:

Just a tip to the mods, this channel is completely dead, I haven't touched it in years and gain absolutely nothing from any views of clicks on anything, this is purely for lols and a bit of memory lane.

You hit the nail on the head appreciate all the comments thanks guys.

I'll come back in another 6 months with an update :D

Way too Scottish and got bored during intro. Not very professional looking if aimed at business, from what I saw. Good luck .
