Some of you may remember my settle for less Thread. This is an extension to that. I posted it in here because i think you guys offer the best advice & suggestions.

The issue: Currently not getting the FPS i want & to be fair i'm fps chasing instead of having fun. just want to set max settings and forget.

My Current Theory & Idea.
Sell
ASUS PG28AQ
ASUS PG278Q
Acer X34A
X99 setup (maybe)

Buy

1080p High Hz monitor with IPS
Maybe a Ryzen setup

With this i may even have cash to spare + a very high end rig for 1080p gaming.

Do you think this is a good plan, any thoughts/flaws/oversights so on?

If you already have a perfectly capable PC you don't need to sell it all, You talk about getting a single 1080p panel so do that if you no longer feel you want the 3 way set up I'm presuming it's used as, Sell the three monitors you have and get one of the latest 1080p models, You'll save a bit of money there. I don't know what X99 set up you are talking about but I'm guessing it's perfectly capable so for the reasons you state for selling it makes you sound like your bored more than anything, The best thing you can do is wait and see all the independent testing results for Ryzen and the new upcoming gpu's ie 1080ti & Vega.

This is madness....:p

Your on x99

If fps is needed sell you x34 and get a superwide 34 inch 1080p screen instead.

Ditch the other two monitors....gaming on three monitors is epeen nothing more nothing less...

i dont game on 3 screens just the x34A. the idea is to just game on 1080P
their so many games on x34A + GTX1080 that need tweaking to get a nice balance.
which is why i FPS check.

If i move to 1080P that would never be the case

Sell the 1080 and get a 1080 ti then keep the x34

just throwing it out there, why don't you keep / get one 1440p good screen, keep your 1080 and be happy with that?

He's got an x34 already ....

Well I hope that the 1070 coupled with the ryzen r7 and oc'ed will be satisfactory for "mid ranged parts".

You'll see a boost over your i5 in games that support multiple threads ...don't expect jaw dropping gains though.

The smart move would be upgrade your cpu....sell your 1070 save the money you were going to spend on Ryzen and buy a 1080 ti

Yep, cat wait to get it and see the test results, so far the r7 seems to dominate on multi threads and according to a few results I have seen (not verified mind you) the single core performance is competing against the milking..sorry intel counterpart.

yes and he also said he's not getting the fps he needs. 1440p and gtx 1080 is the really sweet spot, use that combo and should be happy with the result. Going back to 1080p is a bit extreme.

3440 x1440 and 2560 x 1440p are not having a big effect of fps...

I've tested both on a gtx 1080
