Starting games with XFire

Hi,

Is there any start option that I can apply to a shortcut to make it start in XFire automatically? Or is there any option in XFire that allows me to make a shortcut to the game?

I don't like the way it makes it more difficult starting your games (right click, start, game name) it'd be much better to just click the shortcut like normal and for it to basically start in XFire.

Is this possible??

But why we are here can i Hijack and get my xfire details out there.

xfire name is kgcmalc

Games played are LFS, Rfactor, BF2, COD2 and hide the sausage with any willing female applicant.

Add me and post your xfire names and games.

i dont get it.

surely you only want to start a game through xfire if you are following a friend into a game (right click name, hit join). otherwise just have xfire running and launch your game through the normal way?

i think the op wants it to launch x-fire when he runs any of his games, i'd like this too but i dont think its possible really, unless x-fire had a lightweight monitoring system that noticed you ran hl2.exe and then booted the full x-fire up.

or replace all your game shortcuts with batch files that startup the game and x-fire?

I don't mind running it all the time, I just want to not have to go into xFire / right click the icon, go to launch and click the game. It'd be nicer to just click a shortcut and for it to count the time I spend in the game still.

It does.

If xfire is up and you start say.. cod2 from desktop. It registers as you're playing it.

I've not used it before have been tempted to install it though, I assume it's a good bit of software with so many of you using it.
Will have to get on there, will be back with my xfire id soon

There are shortcuts in the x-fire console to start games.

Well I got it on my system have yet to play around with it,

xfire name : timenchanter

At the moment I spend nearly all my time on COD2, but also have COD1, BF1942, will be getting BF2 soon as GRAW looks like it will be a let down

EDIT, Forgot I have GTR aand GTL but want to wait till I get a wheell to really enjoy these. Also I nearly always play on Moongamers CTF when playing COD2

Ahh, ok. That's all I wanted to do

Just tested it and it doesn't work, you have to start the game by right clicking xfire and clicking on the game.
