Starting out with Wordpress

Hi folks,

Been offered a web design contract where they will need a content management system so they can alter the text on the webpage.

I understand Wordpress can do this?
Just a quick question, how easy and quick is it to learn how to use Wordpress?

I've started working through the pages here: http://codex.wordpress.org/New_To_WordPress_-_Where_to_Start but I need to let them know ASAP.

if it's a small site then you can't do much better and free'r than wordpress...
