startrek elite force 2 -help needed

in startrek elite force 2 on level- DISCOVERY-ALIEN PLANET- after sealing the gas vents, can anyone tell me how to get across the frickin flickring purple bridge preferable before i go insane. i looked at a couple of walkthroughs and they just say have to you jump ,which is no help whatsoever

Took me a few goes but its doable. Just do a quicksave right next to it, run across and jump when you think its right. Using 3rd person mode might help as well.
