Hey,

My HX620 recently failed, it was still under warranty so I got Cosair to replace it, and they sent me a HX650 (yay :))

Today I tried to install it, pretty fiddly work in a Antec P182, but I think everything was connected.

I started it, fans started turning, but it switched off after one second. Tried again, and the same thing happened. Double checked all the cables, everything seemed to be ok, so tried once more. This time all the fans were turning apart from the CPU fan, nothing was being outputted on the screen. Double (or triple) checked the connections, made sure the CPU fan power cable was pushed in properly, but still didn't work.

I have no idea what to do now, could it be a motherboard failure as the fan doesn't turn? However, it could also be something else, as even if the fan doesn't turn, surely the computer should display something for a bit? It doesn't instantly overheat.

Help! :)

no it wont instantly overheat.
try only starting with one stick of ram. no peripherals cpu and graphics card.
try reseating every component
reset bios.
worst case is broken motherboard or psu.

Do I have to remove the CPU as well? I ask just because it is always a bit of a hassle removing the heat sink!

I feel for you dude.
Do you have another PC or friends PC you can test the new PSU in? just to ensure that is ok.
I have been in your situation and the motherboard and cpu followed the PSU to the graveyard :(
