How do I stop Quicktime starting up and placing itself in the notification area in the bottom right everytime I turn my computer on?

Thanks in advance.

Click "start"--"run"--type " msconfig" without the quotes and select the "selective startup" button. Select startup from the tabs along the top of the window and disable any programmes that youi do not want to start with windows.

Why would you want to stop it runing anyway, as quicktime loads pretty fast

If its not there to load then it will be a little faster. Simple as that, and a little time mounts up over every boot! :D

You can right-click the icon, go to Properties, and in the Advanced tab switch off the icon.

Aye, best way to do it. No need to go into msconfig.

erm just use regedit and look at your HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Run and
HKCU/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Run keys?

why install third-party tools?
