Static IP for Internet

Static IP is only useful if you're running a server of some kind. eg web, ftp, game, media

If you are with BE it is a must so many people have issues if there not on static.

I'm with Be (cheapo value package) and I'm not on a static IP, and I don't have any problems. However my IP doesn't seem to chnage.

only issues I have ever had with be is with their DNS servers

not having a static IP even with servers is easily overcome with services that track a dynamic IP

certaily dont pay extra for it unless your sure you need it and how many you would need (Zen gave me 8 at one point)

if your only after 1 static IP many ISP's routers will still work on the auto settings anyway

As mentioned above, can easily be worked around using services such as dyndns. If you need to static ip to run various servers ie mail servers (not too sure about this based on the T&C's), then its a little extra a month.
