Hi all

So quick question for you all,

Everytime I buy a new case and peel the glass protector off I get a massive shock, none of the components have ever been affected by the static, I just want to know if I'm doing something wrong?

I've built plenty of Pc's over the last 7 or 8 years and not had issues with static apart from the glass protection... I build on a desk which is in the bedroom with carpet floor, is there anyway to stop these shocks?

Cheers

High humidity can cause shocks, kept getting shocks this summer from the van. Earth the case and/or yourself. Touch the radiator frequently. You can plug the power in when building as long as long as it's ALL OFF, i make sure all power has been drained from the system also. But take all that with a pinch of salt as i'm no expert. Oh, and polyester clothes are good for creating static, so try less of them.
