Hi all,

Dealing with a frustrating issue of stutter.

When ever I play any format film on any player I get a random stutter.

The picture stutters and so does the sound and a strange (only way I can describe it) Electric surge type sound appears for about max 2 seconds and then the system/film continues with no issues.

This only tends to happen once or twice a film max, but every film I play.

Actions I have tried to resolve the issue

  1. Replace graphics card
  2. Remove Overclock and set to default settings for CPU/Ram
  3. Moved system out of HTPC to tower case with ott cooling
  4. Clean install windows 10
  5. Health check on SSD and storage drives all ok
Temps are fine at low 30c at load for CPU and GPU never goes above 60c at load.

when moving to new case I have also cleaned with compressed air in case it was caused by any dust.

The only time that I get the issue when playing movies but when playing games and just on desktop or web I do not experience any issues (well that I notice).

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Are you using usb headset?
what player are you using?
I get the same problem and a restart normally sorts it out,
I use VLC player and usb headset
I also use fast boot
Its probably a problem with w10 but not many reports about it

I am using VLC, but also get the issue on all other players I have tried.

I have hdmi cable from graphics to TV no stand alone sound card?

Yes, tested all drives and even bought a new one but still the same issue?

Try running Openelec off a USB pen to narrow down if it's a hardware or software issue. (ie take the whole Windows Install out of the equation)
