I picked a jumper out of my wardrobe this morning only to find it completely statically charged so it was just clinging to me and felt horrible.

Anyone else get this or more important know how to stop it happening?

Before anyone says it yes I could earth my clothes when I hang them up

Gently spray some water on it, or wet your hands slightly and pass them over your sweater?

It depends in which way your sweater is static, but it should either give it some more electrons from the water to balance out the charges, or the water will allow extra electrons to move into it and evaporate off...

I tend to gently pass moist hands over my hair when it goes all static, works well.
I'll give this a try too. Thanks.

Perhaps something isn't functioning correctly, the washing machine isn't earthed?
Are all your wool / silk based clothing statically charged or just that one?
Not sure, will check later.
