STCC - The Game

Ive just stumbled accross the Demo for this on Steam. Its a SimBin release that I first thought was just an STCC version of Race for Sweden, but no, it appears that in Nordic regions they get the full Race 07 game, plus the Caterham addon, and also the Swedish Touring car championship, all in one game. (EDIT: and a Camero Cup addon too)

Am I missing something, or does living in Scandinavia get you much more game for your money?

STCC is just another expansion for Race07 like GTR Evolution was.

Its not mentioned as an addon, but more like Race 07 with extra content. Much like GTR Evo full version is Race 07 with some GT championship addons.

Wonder if they could buy the GTR Evo addon....?

The original announcement back in April said it was another Expansion, The full version of GTR Evo is much like the Sims 2 Deluxe, in that it is the original game with an Expansion pre installed, either way it is still an Expansion.

Shame its not available here. Saw the Volvo C30 at Brands, was awesome! Would make a good addition to any game.

Who holds the licence to the BTCC game? Are we likely to see a BTCC addon to Race 07? Or maybe the new Race game (Race Pro?)

Caterhams have always been in Race07, they were only an addon pack for the original Race :confused:

As for BTCC, don't Codemasters still hold it?

Race Pro is just a X360 version of GTR Evolution.

I missed the Camero Cup bit of your first post, that is also included in the STCC Expansion.

I am loving this game.
Don't remember buying it though, it just started downloading the orher day, I must have pre-ordered it weeks ago.

Best tin-top action since the original ToCA on the PSX, can really feel the weight of the cars etc. Feels much better than the WTCC cars for some reason I cannot fathom, I mean they are surely simillar vehicle models, running on the self same game engine.

Anyway, I loves it!

If you pre-ordered GTR evo you got STCC for free because of a pricing mixup. The mixup only actually happened in the US - the people who pre-ordered GTRe paid more than those who bought it after release. It was the other way round here but they gave it to everyone free anyway

It's fun. The tracks (mainly knutstorp) are crazy but I just can't handle it online for some reason. I'm much more consistent in the WTCC cars. I think in real life the STCC cars will be much more tuned to the short and narrow tracks of the STCC so they will handle differently to the WTCC cars. They seem to be quite stable and I can turn into a corner while still breaking quite hard in some cases.
