Steam Achievements

missing 1 on Deus Ex: Human Revolution - the read all the xp books :/

lots of my games added achievements after i had already played them.

Ive done a few on the xbox at 100% none on steam though :(

Got a few platinums on my PS3, for Uncharted 3 and Resident Evil 5. Dont think I have any at 100% on PC as there is no reward at the end of it. Would be great if they put in a proper system, so you get a trophy or something for getting the hardest achievement at the end of the hard work.

They might add a badge that gives you XP based on the achievements you have though. They have added a badge for games owned, so I could see a badge for chieves being added also.

I'd rather watch paint dry than doing silly achievements :)

I'm the same, but I have lots for some games purely because play them to death.

But any achievements that I need to go out of my way to repeat something ( but in a different way) is a huge no no!

I don't get why some people hate achievements, for me personally I see it as a way to get more playability from a game and a new way to make friends :)

Don't think I've ever 100% a game on Xbox or PC but I do have some Platinum trophies on the PS3, working towards my third now :)

same here xD fine example is BFBC2 for me.... game was losing a bit of awesomeness for me... so what should I do? I decided to get bronze star with everything.... then silver.... then gold.... then started working on platinum with all the sniper rifles..... think i got it for 3 or 4 of the sniper rifles (and a few other guns just through general play). that brought more playability to the game as I was quite driven to see how far I could get :D

but apart from that... probably don't have anything 100% xD

Just got my 2nd 100% - this time it was Thomas was alone. Its a cool like indie game, the audio is amazing on it.

One thing achievments can do is get you to play games in a different way or to change your play style. It adds extra life or replayability to some games.

I used to be well up for PS3 trophies but just don't have the time to sink 80 hours into one game anymore. Some trophies were just horrendous like having to play a game 5 times over to get the difficulty trophies or like having to play MGS4 8 times to get the emblems.

After I moved to PC I have not bothered with achievements at all and really enjoyed games far more because you have the freedom to play how you like and for as long as you like.

because you couldn't do that without them?

You can.

But if you take the HL2 Ep2 achievement "Little Rocket Man"

It gives you a challenge to play the game again by carrying the gnome you find at the start of the game all the way through to nearly the end.

Or HL2 Ep1, The One Free Bullet. Finish the game firing exactly one bullet. Grenade, crowbar, rocket, and mavity Gun kills are okay! This achievement, again, makes for a harder challenge without making enemies bullet sponges.

Exactly. It just gives you an excuse to do it and to stick it out. Like going through DE:HR 100% stealthed, with zero kills/KOs, just to make sure you can't accidentally kill someone when you knock em unconscious for the achievement. Its just a confirmation you did it.

COD: BO MP :(
Sanctum 2

Used to have L4D1 and L4D2, then they added new ones!

Really don't go for most game achievements and just get what I get when I play.
