Steam after win7 install

Hello folks, just a quick (probably daft) question!

I've just put my new system together with fresh win7 install. Do I just start installing games from dvd's and will steam online sort itself out? Only really wanting to try out mw2 to compare it.

yeah, just install the steam client first then install from the disc, you might even get teh steam client on the disc to install aswell, im not 100%.
