I find myself getting a little annoyed with putting my date in on steam whenever I buy a game that has a high age rating.

Anyone know if you can ... set your age on your shop account ?

an extra 30 seconds added onto your buying time doesn't really make it worth it, plus its there for non-registered people who want to veiw the game but may be underage.

I just drop down the box for the year, scroll down about 2 or 3 times on the wheel until I reach 1950s and choose one and then submit. Not even 5 seconds. I don't even bother with the day or month.

same here, no point changing day/month :)

just do this :) thats what i always do, normally the 1st date/month options are already filled in, just make sure you hit the year around the 80's somewhere, or lower than that if its closer/easier :D

don't worry steam wont 'hunt you down' for putting a wrong age in :D

It's all just liability, so they can't be accused of advertising selling rated games to underage people. This way, if a 15 year old tries to buy a game rated 18, then the 15 year old is committing fraud by lying about their birthday..

Not much of an inconvenience tbh, just stick a pre-1991 year in and you're sorted in no time :)

Would this work for a retail person? 'well officer, I asked if he was 18 and he said yes....' Sorry, I know it's a stupid question, but I can't see how asking for an age actually reduces their liability. do't get me wrong, I'd happily do thit rather than have to put card details in every time or something equally annoying
