steam and game saves

Where are the saved game files? I seem to have lost saves for rage.

I reinstalled win7 on ssd and all steam releated files are on a 2nd drive.

Depends on the individual game, but in general it's c:\users\yournamehere\documents\saved games

Modern OS save program data to user-specific locations, specifically \users. If changing systems or hdds you need to back up your user files. There are no saved games in the Steam folder.

Made a new save and found that in os drive. Have to start all over now

I have done this many times too. Gamesavemanager is your friend

I'm still learning about win7. I thought that every thing would go to the hdd, as I changed locations of documents, pictures folders etc to save on hhd. Nevermind I had an old save backed up when I got the ssd so only lost a few missions. Thanks anyway.
