Steam and older games...

How come the back catalogue on Steam seems to have so many gaping holes in it?

I want to get hold of Icewind Dale 2 and the NWN Diamond pack but Steam do neither of these?

GOG do them but I like having everything in one place, plus the Steam overlay. :/ How does GOG work, does it use another client?

GoG are awesome, they have a downloader but no client. You dl the games and they are yours, DRM free

Because Steam didn't make or publish any of those games? They can't just say 'Oh, lets sell Icewind Dale' and stick it up there

You get the steam overlay when you add non-steam titles anyway...

Steam isn't a publisher and 99% of the games on steam have nothing to do with Valve.
