Hi all.

Just a question that i've been meaning to get the answer for since i've recently got myself a SSD.

Is it possible to install steam on the SSD along with my more frequently used games, and the rest of my games on my standard HD?

Cheers!

Good question, I have my steam on my storage hdd along with the games. Although I can't see how it would benefit you having steam on your SSD and games on hdd?

But in regards to the more frequent games I play being on the SSD just so they can be accessed faster etc and the less popular games I play just on the standard HDD so i'm not using up all of the space on the SSD.

I use Steam Mover to do exactly this. I have my main Steam installation on my SSD, then use Steam Mover to transfer installations between there and a large storage drive. This works for almost all games, but HL2 and other Source games will need to be on the SSD, due to the way it's implemented. You can then run any game from Steam, and the SSD installed ones will load lightning fast.

It's an awesome little piece of software, and very easy to use.

Brilliant! Thanks a lot Eatpod, i'll get on it right away, I knew there would have been some sort of work around for it. What's the software like? Reliable and easy?
