So, as you may have noticed, lots of games updated for april fools day, with the tag:
Happy #potatofoolsday
And most of these games added potatoes into the game. For example, in Super Meat Boy, you play as a potato. Ditto for lots of other games, in Killing floor you throw potatoes instead of money, AaAaAA has you falling into potatoes, and so on.
But there's something deeper. Defense Grid had a console added to the main screen using some fake text command line style interface. I've taken a couple of important screens from them:
Note the changing of their group name to Advanced Research Group, or ARG. An acronym for 'Alternate Reality Game', which is what this is turning into.
Listing all of the games which recieved the potato update. Trying to run any of those programs launches the steam overlay and takes you to the store page for the game in question.
On top of this, there is a file in the guest directory which links to this webpage:

There's obviously something big going on, and since Valve did something similar last year for Portal 2, and the release of P2 is getting pretty close, maybe its them again? I'm sure they would have enough money to ask a few indie devs to add this into their game in order to build suspense and get some hype.
As for this thread... lets pool info or something! See what we can figure out :3
