Right ok i know this has been asked loads of times but i i just wanted to check something.

I am going to install Windows 7 to get rid of the rubbish Vista.

Once W7 is installed and i have installed Steam do i just copy the entire contents of the steam folder over? Will everything be exactly as it was? Also will the games appear in add/remove programs?

Will my save games etc all be there still?

Sorry to ask so many questions its just my Steam folder is approaching 200gb and i really dont want to download everything again.

Thanks

all games will work, but savegames for 3rd party games could be in my documents etc..

check for each game where they save

All you have to do is copy the whole folder over when you have reinstalled steam again this will put your current configuration onto the new install. By copying the steam folder it will save all your current games and saves for all steam games. Non-steam games may lose their saves as they will be located somewhere else on the hard drive.
